Our Own Way

We wish for our person to rest in peace—what about us?
Are there moments of peace that we create for ourselves? Grief follows us like a shadow. No matter where we turn it can show up. Up close and personal.
First thing in the morning, as we stretch from the night’s sleep.
Midday, amidst work on a hot afternoon—far from sleep.
During night’s sundown signs when, on a bad day, we may long for sleep’s sweet relief.
Blessed sleep.
We create our spaces to rest in peace in our own ways. For me, a formidable place of peace is found in beauty.
Today my peace is found in the labyrinth.
A labyrinth is a winding, unicursal path designed for purposeful journeying, reflection, or ritual. Dating back thousands of years and found in cultures across the world, the labyrinth is a tool for walking out one’s feelings of grief, sadness, or angst and making space for peace of mind.
Sometimes just seeing their beauty brings a moment of peace at just the right time.
What is your unique and personal way of creating peace in the center of your grief? It might be the ocean, a sunrise, or the forest. It could be watching the joy of small children or animals playing. Whatever brings you a space of inner peace, take time to rest in peace in spite of the grief. Or maybe because of it.
Today, I share my own practice with you.
Viewing these beautiful labyrinths in nature.
Wishing you peace in this moment.
