Sadness and Joy . . .

Posted on: March 23, 2022 | Posted by: Kathie Neff

. . . side by side: Camp Widow!

It is freeing to be in a space where your sadness is welcome—embraced!—and joy sneaks past all the barriers we have created to keep it away.

This is Camp Widow.

It is beautiful to witness a gaggle of folks huddling in a corner, laughing their heads off, telling stories about their widowed brain predicaments.

This is Camp Widow!

It’s inspiring to see the heartfelt hello’s of those who’ve only met online, still surprised at how close they feel to those who’ve thrown a life-saver to them via phone, computer, or email — and then to MEET them!

In person!

And hug them hard.

This is Camp Widow!

In the next few weeks I will be unpacking Camp Widow in this space. Together, we’ll look at the what, why, and how of this amazing experience.

You might sit outdoors, pet at your feet or in your lap…

Perhaps you’ll cozy up on your couch with a glass of wine…

Or you bring your laptop onto a chair near the pile of dishes…

Maybe you’ll listen in your car while taking a drive…

Or sit by a window, open or closed, with a bit of spring sunshine…

Wherever you find yourself, DO plug in your speaker and take in the Keynote Interview contained in the link below.

This video, my friends, tells the backstory of CAMP WIDOW!

About Kathie Neff

Kathie Neff was widowed on April 15, 2021. She and her beloved husband, Dan, were high school sweethearts and enjoyed dancing and riding horses together. They lived in gratitude, hope and forgiveness for 50 years and nine months when Dan passed quietly late at night, surrounded by their seven children who, with Kathie, were caring for him in their family home.

Dan and Kathie have been a part of Camp Widow and Soaring Spirits International since its inception, as members of Michele Neff Hernandez’s cadre of helpers from the Neff family.

Kathie believes strongly in the strength and bond that is the gift of community and brings a heart of love for all who have been affected by death and dying.

Long live love. XO
