Time for Change

Posted on: April 21, 2024 | Posted by: Kelley Lynn

There are times in life when change happens. Sometimes we want and welcome the change, and other times the change is thrusted upon us like a heavy brick against our chest, cutting off our oxygen. Whatever the case, changes are always lurking around the corner, and most of us develop fears and anxieties and hesitations when it comes to coping with change. Even our bodies don’t react well to change. Even when a change is considered to be a positive or good change, it still causes stress to our bodies, and our bodies do not know the difference between good and bad stress – it’s just all stress. Bottom line is this: changes in life put a big stress and toll on us, our bodies, and our minds.

Right now Im facing a lot of changes, most of which are the unwelcome kind that I didnt really want or ask for. And yet, here they are, and Im trying my best to face them head on. Through it all, I keep reminding myself that I have been through worse, that I have been through the unimaginable, and that I WILL get through all of this. It does help to know that, to be aware of that, and to know that in this current situation Im facing, it does not involve anyone suddenly dropping dead. And so, as much as it sucks, I will find a way to deal with it, and find a way to once again BEGIN AGAIN – somehow.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for being there.

About Kelley Lynn

Kelley Lynn is a comedian, actor, TED talk speaker, and author of "My Husband Is Not a Rainbow: the brutally awful, hilarious truth about life, love, grief, and loss." Kelley was widowed at age 39 when her beautiful husband Don left for work one morning and never came home. (sudden heart attack.) Since then, it has been her mission to change the conversations we have surrounding grief and death, and to help those who are sitting in the dark, to find some light again. Kelley is a proud kitty mom to Sammy and Autumn, the 2 rescues that she and Don adopted together. In 2017, Kelley met her next great love story, Nick. They married on New Year's Eve 2020 in a FB LIVE ceremony, and are loving their new home in Westminster, MA.
