I desperately need rest and recharging. I feel like I’ve had to play the role of the Energizer Bunny and my batteries just died.
Someone who isn’t an introvert would probably look at my last week and think, aside from not getting enough sleep, it all looks like a great time! I did have fun, so there’s that. But I went from a 4 day event to then hosting my cousin who I only briefly met at a funeral when we were both 11. We have kept in touch over the years, but we had 40 years of catching up to do! So a couple very late nights and a lot of talking.
Last night we had a deep conversation about loved ones lost. Her brother had died at the age of 45, only a couple years younger than Mario when he went. I do remember meeting him, but he wasn’t someone I kept in touch with. He was 6 years older than us plus had a lot of health issues. My cousin often felt like an only child growing up because he was that much older.
We got to talking about signs from passed loved ones, so it was interesting hearing all of her stories about that and I like to share all the ways I think Mario has been in contact with me over the past 5 years to anyone with an open mind for that sort of thing.
Tomorrow we’re going to try to do a video call with her, her mom (my aunt), myself and my mom (her mom’s younger sister), so that should be interesting as well. Then my cousin will be starting her drive to Arizona where one of her daughters live.
It’s funny too, my cousin is the 3rd person this year from my distant past that I’ve gotten to hang out with in person this year. Literal decades had passed without seeing with these folks and then suddenly in the span of mere months, there they all were. Funny how things can work out like that.
Anyway, sorry for the short post, but the batteries really are dead. Hopefully over the next week I can recharge a bit.
